Basic Microbiological Concepts
MECP Director Approved 0.4 CEU, 4 hour course
This course provides attendees with a basic, but sound knowledge of microbiology as it relates to drinking water operations. In the post – Walkerton era it is important for all operators and administrators to have a sound knowledge pertaining to the basics of microbiology. Types of pathogens, sampling methods, testing methods and interpretation of analytical results will be the focus of the classroom discussion. Upon successful completion of this course attendees will return to their positions with a greater appreciation of the importance of microbiological conditions within their respective drinking water systems.
